Need Advice on Twitching Legs

un my peak i was really teitching every minute in various muscles. Now I have 2-3 sets per day, mostly in legs, face and hands.I have cramps also. Daily.

When I wake up in the morning, as soon as I start to move or stretch, my thighs start popping away. Will it stay in my thighs forever?

AmyLou_29,It is clear that you are having some serious anxiety to this new thing you are experiencing (as many of us do). You can see from the numerous responses that you are experiencing nothing different than many, many others here. There is no one thing that will cause your twitching, although you may learn that certain things can "trigger" the twitching. It is very common to have them set off by stretching, that happens to me ALL the time. Even through the course of the night when I wake up and stretch a bit I will start twitching in random places (lets, arms, back etc). Yawning seems to cause that as well for a lot of people, myself included. We all want to help each other out on here, but I encourage you to use the search function at the top, you will see just how many of us have the same exact things going on. It may, or may not stay in your legs. For a lot of people, myself included, it started in the calves. From there it just moved on to other places as well. I am almost at a year now and my legs still go like crazy every single day, jusnt now I can add a whole lot of other places to that. Please realize that you are nowhere near alone with this. None of us like it, but the sooner we except that this wierd thing is going on with our bodies (but nothing sinister) the better. It is what it is....just let it be and live a happy life :)

Hi, I spoke to my GP today as my thighs are very sore, he said he didn't know why and that he didn't think the twitching was related to it, he wants me to go and see him to probably be referred to a neurologist, I'm very very scared now. I

Don't be scared. My thighs ached for several months and I couldn't figure out the reason for it, as I hadn't changed my routine at all. The achiness eventually went away. Stuff comes and goes with BFS -- that's what I'm learning. I'm sure your visit to the neuro will ease your mind. Please don't assume the sore legs are indicative of something else. I'm sure you're fine. God bless!

I have a question..... I have to go and have another blood test next Tuesday to check for lime disease? And my cpk levels, I don't know what either of these mean, my GP is concerned that my thighs are sore and doesn't think muscle pain is consistent with bfs? Any advice appreciated

This seems an active thread so I would like to jump in .... My tongue has been twitching on the tip for about 3 weeks, usually when I start talking or move it in certain ways ! It's as constant as it could be in one spot ! I have had a chin twitch that last 6 + weeks about 4 years ago and an eye twitch about 3 months ago that stayed for 2 weeks... I also get bouts of body wide twitches from time to time and there are so many you simply couldn't count them... The body wide ones have been going on and off for at least 5 years ... Worried about the tip of my tongue though ... Even with my history... I feel and see all my twitches ! Seen the gp who said most likely BFS and the neuro said the same but I requested an emg which is next week as I'm so worried ! The neuro still thinks I am ok as I passed all the physical / clinical tests.. I guess I just worry...

I wish my twitching was like yours! Mine is in the same place continuously, 24/7 and something must be going on as they are so sore! I wouldn't worry about your chin, in everything I've read that's never been a sight of anything! Also you've been twitching for years and nothing else has set in, I've been twitching for 5 months and had pain for the last 2, very worrying. What tests did the neuro get you to do?

Well my chin actually became a bit sensitive and slightly painful due to the twitching but I wasn't complaining about pain as the twich stopped, every now and then it give a few twitches to remind me that it was there but only in a blue moon ! My tongue is more or less constant, I just generally have to move my tongue to trigger it mostly...The neuro done all the usual clinical tests ... Coordination, reflexes, eyes, muscle tone everything I guess except emg ...He said I don't need it it but if it made me relax more i could have an emg so I am getting one soon.. Just waiting on the date...

He seen my tongue and said so do you feel it twitching now as he looked and it wasn't so I said no... Then a few minutes later I said don't you want to see it twitch ? And he said I've already looked in and your ok ... I showed the twitch to him and he was like agh I see it now and played it all down and said people twitch ... He said he was less concerned because I was twitching in random spots too and had a little twitching history ...

Well my tongue is twitching all day in the same spot... My calfs are also very busy twitching too, prob more the left side... Is your tongue twitching at the tip too ?

Try your best not to worry, I had myself in a state for about a week but if you calm down the generalised twitches definitely back off a fair bit, it's true what others say on this site... Anxiety feeds the twitches !! I've just got my tongue twitching to think of right now and it's only doing it when I move it certain ways or certain words spark it off so I am hoping it will start to disappear.... Honestly try not to let it control your every thoughts ... It's not a nice place to be when that happens...

Is it normal that mine twitch in the same place every single day? Even when I move them it doesn't stop, my thighs have been like this for 5 months, soreness for 2, is this normal for bfs?
