Wishing You Luck and Wellness

I went into the hospital one night with stomach pain. It started at about 8 pm, and at 2 in the morning I decided that a 6 hour stomach ache was too long to be normal. They ran some tests, and did that fun Barium swallow. In the end, it was APPENDICITIS. I did not vomit (Until in my bravado I decided that I didn't have appendicitis and tried to leave the ER. When I stood up, I almost fainted and then vomited), nor did I have the classic right side pain (my pain was square in the middle). I learned that the pain starts in the middle and migrates to the right side as the condition progresses.

The surgeon who removed my appendix said it was very inflamed and that although it might not have burst at that time and the inflammation might have subsided, it would have likely flared up again and probably burst in the future if left there. And a burst appendix is not a nice situation.
