Welcome! BFS: The Journey So Far

Hello y'all! This is my first post on the community and I'm hoping to get some good feedback. Here is my BFS story (the condensed version). Two months ago the twitches started in my biceps and quickly went viral after Dr. Google gave me the bad news. I then saw my GP >> blood tests (ok) gave me Ativan >> neuro referral >> neuro exam ok with essential tremor >> EMG (clean in legs arms and foot). Now I continue to have hot spots and low levels of anxiety. My initial anxiety was so bad I almost took off work and developed GERD. My FEET are what scares me. I'm on them all day and after about 1 hour of standing they go crazy with twitching and buzzing. My arches and the sides of my feet will continually twitch like popcorn kernels bursting all day long. I've also noticed this while hiking. One other symptom I've had is a lump in throat feeling. It may be glubus or GERD. IDK. Can anyone relate to these symptoms??? Thanks!!!

All of that is classic BFS. My feet also pop and buzz all day long (along with most other muscles in my body). The arches of my feet also cramp frequently. The lump in the throat feeling is also very common in times of high anxiety. - Matt

hi there, if u read any of my posts, actually most of them the majority of my twitches are in my feet..they pop and buzz and vibrate all day everyday...and if im on them for any length of time they go insane...they truely are like a popcorn machine...also the lump in the throat feeling i get to in times of high anxiety or stress...everything u describe sounds just like the rest of us with bfs....best wishes shannon... :D)

I never had a foot twitch until I was two months into BFS. When I finally got one I freaked out! Why? Who knows. But I did and I was OH SO SURE this was the sign of my impending doom. Why it bothered me more than the other 5,000,000 I had before that still confuses me. They were nothing like my calf twitches, sort of a breed of their own. I had a continuous twitch in my right foot for over a month and a half. I'd never had a hotspot like that! I would sit in the bath and watch it and cry thinking that this was the twitch that was going to do me in. Now I can say I haven't had a foot twitch for at least two months. Not a single one. I go back and read my earlier posts and laugh at myself because I was a raving crazy lady. What I'm trying to say is..."CrAzY foot twitches....been there, done that, lived to tell the tale" I'm confident you will too! ;) Frances

I can remember back when this started and yes it was bothersome. I've been "lucky" enough to enjoy lots of sensory symptoms along with the twitches so I'm well aware of the nuisance that can come of this stuff. However annoying this stuff is, we know for a FACT that the source will not and cannot ever hurt us. And that's okay with me. :)

You all have been so encouraging and helpful! I truly hope that later on I can be as positive in the lives of others as you have been to me. This site has helped me tremendously... Even more so than the clean clean EMG. My feet were a nuisance today but nothing more. Had twitches in almost every muscle group as well so I'd say the feet aren't really anything concerning. Thanks again!

I have had twitches under my feets for at least 5 years by now... So, yes, it is possible to have this very annoying condition without being deadly pathological ill. The best advice I can give you is that you need to sleep as lack of sleep really makes things a lot worse. These days It feels as im walking on partying brown-breasted hedgehogs... And why so? My kids wake me up at night.
