Twitching, Pain, and Atrophy: Help?

Really thinking I have something horribly wrong with me. The twitching is non stop everywhere for two years now. I thought I was getting better but it was just me ignoring it. Now, 2yrs in, I twitch and have pain and muscle tightness in my thigh. My right foot kills me in the morning right after I wake up and hurts after resting it. I also swear the pain in my right thigh is the cause of the atrophy that is there and getting worse. Its an indent on my upper right outside thigh muscle and thats were the weird tightness/pain is right in this spot. The leg doesnt look shrunk or smaller sompared to the left but there is a big indent and I swear it has gotten bigger/deeper in the last 6mos. Recently, my ears have begun to ring and they have been doing this now for over two weeks. I'm ignoring it the best I can... going about my business and living life but its hard times lately and I dont want my wife to worry about it. She has been through to much of this shyt when it first stasrted... I dont want to summarize all that has happened to me because its all here. I'm 31 now and this all started when I was 29... man I wish it would all just go away. If you have time my history of posts can give you an insight into my history with whatever this crap is.

Hey-I have never talked to you before, but am going through basically the same thing for about 2 years maybe longer now. I have only been to see a muscular specialist and then a neuro with 2 emg's. Negative EMG's but Tuesday I have one and I know I have a big dent in my right forearm. I looked back at your past posts and they look like mine, freaking out sometimes and trying to push through this. My wife probibly thought I was crazy tonight but I am really worried they will find something on Tuesday. She was like "you just need to calm down"....ha ha. Well if you felt like you were being eaten by some little bugs all day for the past 2 years I bet you would be calm too =) My friggin foot is twitching right in the arch where there is a larger dent than the other side...freaking out. My forarm REALLY scares me because there is a dent thats like 1/2 an inch deeper than the other side. Why cant we just get over this crap and move on? But I would say that if you have been to 5 neuros (like some of your other posts said) I would be much happier with the "your ok" explanation. I am really starting to get cramps and soreness that I NEVER had before. Hang in there man! There are a lot of us in this entire BFS boat and I know we will get through it. If I had the opportunity to do ANYTHING to get rid of this fear and these twitches I would do it right now. I think the key is that my neuro really bases that everything is ok from the exam, not the other tests. I think they order these EMG's to ease our mind or try to find something else that could cause the twitching or weird feelings. I think if they would say "we really need to do an EMG" if your grip was bad or you were stumbling then would be the time to worry. My neuro last time was like "why do you bounce your right leg all the time"...I told him "its cause my right foot twitches all the time". He said "call me if you want something to treat your symptoms" but otherwise we dont need any more follow ups. I think that they cant dismiss us because there is no "proof" of what exactly we have. But they know what we dont have and thats all that matters.

HiI am afraid there is no quick fix for this thing. You must ride the storm.I have had these symtoms too, but i always tell my self it is another sign that i have BFS (a benign condition)You must remember that time, is a good indication that your symptoms are not that fo the nasty family.I am on gabapentine meds for neuropathic pain may be this would help you.Take care and be strong.Chris

Chris/Sean,Thanks for the words of support... I really am trying to ride out this storm but I doubt its going to end anytime soon. As I write this my leg twitches (you know the deal). I just dont know what else to do at this point other then going on with life as you both have said. Its funny but I'm not freaking out like I used to, I have accepted this crap as a part of my everyday life and have been pretty good with just ignoring it all together, thats all we can do I guess. Should I go to another nuero? I did see a bunch before, but I think it might have been a bit to early for then to detect anything with just an exam. Should I insist on an emg? Never had one and they all told me its not worth itOr should I just keep on trucking and don't go to a Dr and take everyday at a time?Do you guys twitch ALL the time? Honestly? I mean ALL THE TIME. Here, there, everywhere and hotspots? Do you have pain also? Sean good luck bro... and I'm sure the Dr. will give you a clean bill. Please reply with his respnse. Thanks again guys!

HiAlways seek medical advise on any worrying issues, although, i don,t think they can do much. How about trying the med gabapentin, it is an anticonvulsant that may help you. It helps my pain. If it helps the pain it may also calm your stress level down and thing may improve. No harm in trying. How is your stress level, (high i bet!) and how is your diet too? do you have a good diet?take careChris

Hey! Read my post about my clean EMG I just put up today. It should really help you with your worries. Glad to be able to provide this information to everyone!
