Twitching Intensity Reaching Unprecedented Levels

I am so, so scared. My twitching is sone mad. My left shoulder has been twitching for a week violently in several spots and the "firing" seems to be affecting all the limb and also the back.I had twitches before, but this is something truly amazing in its intensity. To make the *beep* worse, my mum has been diagnosed 2 years ago with PSP or other form of Parkinson Plus syndrome. She went to the best Neuro, or presumed to be so and there is some form of concensus. She is in her early '70s.Now, you would say, it is well more than 6 years that I have been twitching, but guys, wow...This is something. And the flare-up, or whatever this is, did not take place at any time of specific stress or anxiety, this is for sure. Now, I am anxious.

Your freaking out is not helping and is in fact likely fueling the left shoulder issue. If you follow through with this, it will help you to feel better. If your twitching distracts you just let it be and gently bring your attention back to the guiding voice. It's worth a shot!

Please don't be scared. After 6 years, you know it's not (you know what). And SAM is right, the fear is going to fuel the twitching. What it could be is that you have irritated the nerves in your shoulder somehow. Like maybe you have a pinched nerve or something.Or like the rest of us, you're getting some flare up for who knows what reason (we never really know, but all of us have flare ups). I record my twitching levels every day and sometimes I'm up to an 8/9 out of 10, sometimes I'm just a 2. I haven't found any real reason, like food, tiredness, etc. that I can tie it to.Might be worth a trip to the doctor to check it out if that would ease your mind. Or wait and see that it will probably calm down by itself over time. I went through a bout of very bad facial twitching, and that had subsided.I can relate to you, though, any new/different symptom freaks me out as well. I've been having way more arm/shoulder/back twitching myself than 2 years ago, sometimes waking me up a night and I hate it. I had gotten used to my calves twitching and the random pop elsewhere, and of course, something new scares me (but I suffer from high anxiety).6 years into this, you really can scratch what you fear the most off your list. And, obviously these are not Parkinson's symptoms (I'm sorry to hear about your mom).Mitra
