Twitching For 20 Months: Possible?

Okay folks,I have been twitching for the last 20 months or so, but its only been bad in the last year... I am currently furiously knocking on wood, but my tongue keeps feeling little flicks and strange sensations in the side. Is it possible to develop the tongue twitch later? Has this happened to anyone else? Also, if new twitches come up, should these be discussed with the doctor, or just if any weakness appears? Thanks all!*still knocking* (this is a weird sensation!)

... like PrayMantus previously asked "Nobody want to touch this one?" Haha, I know this is probably because you have all experienced it, but sometimes you just have to hear it... I am having to hear it less and less I think, but this is a new thing for me!

Yep thats why no one is responding. Yes its possible to develop a tongue twitch later in BFS, as a matter of fact the "when and where" doesnt matter, honestly, neither does the "why". I actually had never felt a tongue twitch in my life, until I read here about someones tongue twitching, then guess what...my tongue twitched. Your mind is a very powerful thing. If it helps you to get past the anxiety, call you Doctor and talk to the nurse...but I really dont believe it is necessary. Tongue twitching feels crazy...but its just like all the other twitches...bengin. :D)

I have little flicks and funny sensations on the side daily and have had so weeks after this thing started a year ago. Search the board under my name for tongue posts and you will see how common this is. I find the numbers on here who have it very reassuring. If you can still talk and swallow, I think most doctors blow you off a bit when you report the tongue sensations so the frequency is probably not that well documented. It is very scary but it is clearly just a part of all the rest going on with most of us here.As far as the significance of developing the symptom late, I think everyone has had a new symptom over time. Yours just happened to be the tongue. Krackersones

Hiya,I'm twitching since September last year and only developed tongue issues a couple of weeks ago. I have twitches on the side and underneath it as well, couple of times a day. Although I coped quite good with my condition it of course worries me now again. It's always good to know that you are not alone!!

Sauekraut,Thanks for adding your tongue experience to the mix. The more of us that report this the more comforting it is to all of us who have it. I wish one of my neuros would get it so then maybe they would think a little harder about explaining it. I'm of the theory that neuros have so much to be concerned with in terms of life threatening symptoms that a functioning person with a few tongue twitches or shocks that they can't observe just go in one ear and out the other. This board is probably the only place in the world where the phenomenon is even documented. Krackersones
