Twitching and Joint Pain Symptoms

Hi guys,I write with some new symptoms, that disturb me.I've been twitching for almost three years now in almost every part of my body. Mainly calves and face. Guess it is here to stay. However – recently I've begun to experience pain in my various joints: Ancle-, knee- and finger-joints. If I press my finger-joints, they will hurt. If I walk up stairs, my left knee hurts. It also hurts, when I ride on my bicycle and push the pedals. You get the picture. I fail to see, how that should be BFS-related, but I'm curious if any of you guys experience the same?Normal painkillers don't help at all. Looking forward to feedback./P

P, you just named off every joint of mine that hurts. It used to be quite constant, but now the ankle joint pain tends to not hang around as often, but the knees and finger joints seems to still be here quite frequently. I do take larger doses of Ibuprofen for the pain, and It works pretty well I thinks. I've had this since my BFS started. So I assume it is part of it, but not sure why. Sorry if that doesnt help, just didnt want you feeling like you were the only one with joint pain, I do get it.Take careRobynn :D)

Yep, I get it. It is not a constant. But two weeks ago, I had pretty good arch pain in my foot. It went away after a week or so. I also have random times that my joint in my fingers hurt and in my toes. I didn't have it before this, and it is on my lovely R side which is the afflicted one. :D) And that knee will have issue sometimes also. Just didn't want you to think you were alone! :) BTW, I don't find that stopping anything makes it better. I have just started in the past four months just pushing through it. SCarrie

Yes, I've had quite a bit of this to the point that I was getting swelling (fluid) in some areas especially the knees. The physical therapist said it was due to a misalignment in the joint - due to unequal muscle tensions - because some of my muscles were hyper-toned and others were not. LOL she wanted to know what kind of physical activity I was doing to cause this and didn't quite believe me when I said ummm, nothing. Didn't go into the whole bcfs explanation thing - too much trouble. So when you have very active muscle sets which are not balanced, the joint can suffer. You can go get therapy which helped me a little but about as much as acupuncture - I just tied to work the joint equally (leg extensions)- easy to do in the knee but not in the shoulder or hip. I don't get this as much as before since my symptoms are less frequent and active.

Well I think it sucks anyhow. I still don't see the connection to BFS, but it does give me some kind of comfort to hear, that I'm not alone with this./P

Well I was just sort of referring to what I'm OK was saying about how some muscles are tight and this can cause odd pressure on joints that they arent used to, and then they can hurt, swell, pop, all of which I've had myself. Sometimes when muscles are tight you can feel it in your walk, so thats why I asked that.

I had the MS fear for a while, So I understand where your coming from, but I dont have MS and neither do you. If you want some good MS info to reassure you then you are welcome to PM me anytime if you like.Take CareRobynn :D)

To all of you with muscle and joint pain, please get your Vit D levels checked. I had so many pains I was almost diagnosed with fibromyalgia. It turned out I had very low Vit D. began supplementing and within 4 months my pains were 80% gone. Helped my twitching too.

Mario, you only need 15-20 min. a day of sun to get Vit D. But, many of us in cold, cloudy climates can't get that year round. I am not kidding when I say Vit D saved me from tons of fibromyalgia medication. I was headed for lyrica and some that are worse. Please get your levels checked. It is just a simple blood test and worth it. I'll shut up now :(

Peter I am getting this now. Major soreness in knee joints ( feels like they wont hold my weight and ache upon movement) and also elbows and neck. Did yours progress go away or what? Giving me the shytes! Feels like the joint soreness/ache you get when you getting the beginnings of the flu.BFS????cheersRodger
