25 yo maleI have twitching in my arm muscle that runs right above my elbow 24/7....most the time it is a very fine twitch, but i can intensify it by felxing that muscle....i have the same twitch in the other arm exact same place, but less often. This muscle also gets hard very easy....i also get twitches in other places legs, feet, back, shoulders, eyelids etc. but not constant and mostly after exercise.the fear of ALS is driving me crazy.....and I can really use some adviceI guess my main worry is the twitches are very fine and localized....i fear that i have weakness and atrophy, but sometimes i think i am imagining it....i have an indention right where the twitch is!!!please helpcody

Cody,What you describe sounds very consistant to BFS. Without any real weakness of a distal limb or digit then randomized and local twitches points to a benign condition. Plenty of good posts to lookup here will explain that twitching comes AFTER the real weakness in the very progressive illness.Chill out and you'll be fine ;)

Cody,Go to the General topics board and read the posts about dents and Atrophy, second from the top. We all get them, I have a big dent that has developed in my calf, which has been twitching not stop for 18 months, I do not know why it developed but it is not ALS. You seem like a good candidate for BFS, why? because you are going crazy, that is what is does to you. If you had ALS you would be dropping things, tripping or falling down. ALS usually presents with weakness, followed by the twitching. Also, you are very young, it can hit some one your age but it is very rare. Keep reading posts on this site, you find alot of the same stories as yours. If you cant shake it, go see a neurologist to ease your mind, good luck

thanks...yall have eased my mind a little bit...it has def been a rough 2 monthsstarted i had a parasite (cryptosporidum) i one point i freaked myself out, and thought I had colon cancer....dr. put me on cipro originally...took 5 pills and started having side effect (brain fog, and memory problems) then the twitches came....now i have to see a psych , and im on xanax, paxil, and ambien....2 months ago i was a happy go lucky guy...now i think I have colon cancer and ALS!! hopefully i get better soon.

Cody,There was a guy on here who hasn't posted in almost a month. He went by the name "DefzDan2000". He had a very fine localized twitch in his shoulder. Got it checked out with and EMG and everything turned out completely normal. Research and read some of his old messages it will give you some peace of mind.CDC
