I am wondering if anyone's twitches lessen while in bed or sleeping? Mine does maybe cause I'm laying down... but are most prominent in the evening between 5-8pm and I am trying to figure out why.
I think twitching is more prominent in the evening if it's your downtime. I notice it more in the evening because I am not as active. It doesn't keep me awake or wake me up at night though. When I wake up, first thing in the morning, I do notice a few more twitches. Maybe it's my overactive nerves waking up.
I think everyone's twitches behave differently but the Mayo paper refers to symptoms being worse at night in many BFS sufferers. I am a bit like you in that they tend to be bad in the evening and also as soon as I wake. They don't cause me to wake but if I do wake up for another reason (usually a child coming into the bed or the need to take a pee (the joys of having a prostate!)... but alas never to indulge in conjugal activity (child in bed not a good look for this!)) I notice that the fasciculations are still there.Hope this helps.Simon
Yes!My twiches are worse between 5-8pm and when I go to bed. ALso MUCH worse when I'm at work/stressed/anxious and better (but not gone) during holidays and days off.If I wake up, sleepy, in the middle of the night, and stay still, I have no twitches at all. Then if I start to think/worry or move around the twitches start up again.Having said that, everyone is different so I don't think this is too significant.Hope this is ressuring,D
Unless you are videoing yourself sleeping, and you are sleeping naked with no covers...how would you know if you twitch or not while asleep?I know there are some who like to video themselves while in bed, but I don't think it is for the twitching. Basso
My symptoms are always worse in the morning but are usually muscle spasms and cramp-like knots. I attribute some of this to lower circulation from laying in bed all night. Twitches, etc. come and go though - sometimes are more frequent if I've been sitting a lot (like at work). Basso - You know if you have symptoms when you sleep if 1- they wake you up and/or, 2- they wake up your husband/wife and he/she tells you about it the next morning, or 3- if you went to bed early but wake up feeling worse or more tired the next day (hit-by-a truck-while-sleeping days). At one point I had to take medication (gabapentin) so 'we' could get some rest - hahaha this really impressed my neurologist for some reason - but I went off it as soon as things calmed down (~ 6 weeks).
