Trouble Strangling While Eating/Drinking

I have had trouble strangling when I drink and eat, I have constant tongue tremors that I didn't know existed until the neurolist noticed it, also have tremors on my arms and legs, MRI, nerve test and blood tests are all clear,barron swallow test showed some paralsis near the flap that covers my lungs when I drink or eat, I have to go to a ALS clinic to get my tongue checked, I am strong, walking over a mile a day,lift weights, BFS appears to be more along the line of my symptoms, I know no one can confirm but I have stopped freaking out expecting to die, any ideas??

EMG normal? Lots of reasons people aspirate when they eat. Relflux is the most common one by far.The longer you recall having the twitches in your extremities, the more likely it is just BFS.

Tremors are typical for BFS, including every body part including tongue. They are not a sign of early ALS, if they appear in ALS they are because of real weakness which you apparently don't have.

I suffer from dysphagia due to acid reflux. My tongue has been twitching for years along with every single muscle in my body.Get it checked and treated as this condition can get a lot worse.In any case you don't have ALS.CheersMay

Acid Reflux is very common on this site too. And this is strange because Acid reflux us usually blamed on bad livestyle and overweight, and there are hadly really overweight people on this forum, most have normal to low weight. I know there are many doctors that think there is no clear link between stress and reflux, but I hardly know any easily stressed/anxious person that does not have it. Besides me, but I am a long term hederitary sufferer of too low acid/dyspepsia which is also not nice. Since I had BFS this has normalized though, meaning my acid production has apparently increased too. Anyway, it should be checked because long lasting acid attacks on the esophagus can cause other problems too.

I have tongue tremors and jaw tremors. If I stick my tongue out it just tremors like no ones business. I showed two Neurologists and one didn't think anything of it the other sent me to a movement specialist who said it was distractible. The movement specialist had me slap my leg while my tongue was out or clinch a fist and then open my fist over and over again and he said the tremor started to stop. Also if I put my front teeth together they chatter for a second. I have BFS for 8 months at this point and most of my twitching slowed a lot over the past 2 months. Still twitch daily most of the time but nothing like I had when I first started twitching. But my tremor is still active. Its gotten better with time and while working on my anxiety levels. Any who nothing has changed about them to much though and I have just learned to accept it. Hope this helps.
