Has anyone here tried, with any succcess, the prescription med, "Skelaxin"?My neuro had presribed it for me...(800 mg...3 times/day) but, for some reason, I'm afraid to take it (i respond negatively to many meds)---It's a 'muscle relaxant'- & supposed to stop 'cramps'....& settles down 'irritable muscles'-! (I'm already taking valium)If so--was it of any help?I was ...thinking of tryimg a half pill (400 mg)---it's similar in action to "flexaril'- Hoping to hear- Christian :D)

I have never taken it but I corresponded with a women with bfs for 13 years. She told me she has taken flexaril and ativan for many years with good results. I take klonopin and was told by my neuro it is the best benzo for my symptoms because it has a long half-life. I think this means it stays in your body longer so there are fewer ups and downs. Klonopin has worked very well for me.

I tried it. The doctor in the E.R. gave it to me (yes, I went to the E.R. when this all started). It's just a muclel relaxer. I think I took it just once. I don't think it helped.

I was on this medication when I herniated my disc (which may or may not have caused my BFS).I remember it as a muscle relaxer and the various muscle relaxers I took never really did much for me.-43RichyThe43rd
