I've had twitching all over for 2 years but for the last year (with 2 normal limb emg's) but the main thing that's been annoying me recently has been tongue twitching.
It started out as a feeling of stiffening of the tip of my tongue. If I looked in a mirror I could see little dimples flickering on the surface of my tongue which only lasted for a few seconds at a time. If I rested my tongue on my lower lip I could actually feel the tiny muscles pulling tight. I slurred the odd word if I happened to be talking during one of these bouts. This came & went over a few months and now happens only infrequently.
This was followed by an almost constant tugging of the right hand edge of my tongue, made worse by sticking my tongue out. This lasted about 6 months and is now an infrequent event too.
Now, I have a mild feeling of stiffness in the centre of my tongue which comes & goes. When I look very closely I can see frequent tiny flickerings all over the affected area.
No problems speaking or swallowing, no tongue wasting, no progressive symptoms so it ain't als.
I thought I would post this message to ask other people if they could contribute their experiences of tongue twitching, in particular the types of twitching, their pattern and duration.
