Hi, Nutfyrywell, as for thyroid gland you must mot have any bad habit to get a nodule in it. TG is very prone to nodulization and they are found VERY often on the ultrasound ( I have a lot of diffuse ones, however smaller than yours according to the US wich I have once a year because I live in the region with high natural ionising radiation level partly suffered from Chernobyl accident), usually they are filled with liquid and mostly they are benign.yes, thyroid hormones might cause fascics and some other symptoms included into BFS both in case of hypo- or hyper thyroidism. I know that we have here several members with autoimmune hypothyroid condition called Hashimoto disease, but I am not sure if we have somebody with confirmed hyperthyroidism (Greves disease), however I am slightly (still subclinically) hyperthyroid. You also would be, most probably, assigned for the full thyroid panel (if not done before) to see how you are doing with vatrious related hormones.Depending on biopsy, your nodule might be left as is, removed or treated with thyroid hormones. Thyroid masses, especially in young males, very seldom means something fatal, ususally something really nasty might happen in case of quite old women (again I know that because of translation of immunogystochemical kits related to thyrod tissue biopsy and staining to reveal what is going on)
