Sinus Infection Symptoms Returned

Had all this stuff in 06 and 07. Horrible. Massive twitching perceived weakness etc.. EMG was OK back then. This past NOV I got a very serious sinus infection , went on Leviquin. After 3 days felt worse. Thay changed my meds. Sinus cleared up but BAM all my old sysmptoms are back in a big way after being gone for over 3 years. Can any of the sinister stuff like *** come back or does just go on from the onset ??

I've often wondered myself. Textbooks says it's progressive. But when this started for me in 2006, I've had massive perceived(?) weakness and was very tired. I don't have that anymore, but I'm twitching all over. So maybe when the nerve fibers start to die, you first get some weakness, after some weeks the body starts to adapt and copes until 80% of them are gone?

Thanks. I did not think it could. Having a LOT of pain in my calfs. Like pulled muscles. No stamina for standing too long. All the Shi&^^$ I had before. I had forgotton how much I hated feeling this way...

Levaquin is not recommended if you have a neuropathy, auto-immune disease. Some peoples here are saying that they "think" their BFS is a side effect of fluoroquinolones as Levaquin.Your BFS that was silent but not cured is getting back ... It is not ALS.Good luck.

Not aware that 'nerve fibers start to die' or that text book say progressive! Maybe if you evidence your statement with URLs or knowledge base material so we can all read

For very anxious people, having a good few years and then reducing or eliminating ones SSRIs will typically lead to a flare within 6 months of returning to a hypervigilant anxious state. Does for me anyway. Used to be pelvic, now its dystal.Degenerative diseases such as those you fear do not do this. they can plateau, but not wane.

Back from Neuro, gave me all the usual tests ( no emg ). He said my muscle ability is good. I mentioned to him about having a sinus infection back in late NOv. I said they put me on antibiotics. Right away he asks " Leviquin ". I was like wow yes thats it. Said it has caused all kinds of problems and this may be what I'm going through...Have to go back in April. Twitches remain and terrible fatique and perceived weakness in the legs. He also mentioned that ALS never stops for 3 years and comes back. Also said that most *** patients don't even notice the twitches until the disease has progressed quite a bit. He said that he actually had to point them out to a couple of patients ...
