I just had an EMG/NCV yesterday. The EMG specialist found some abnormalities, but he doesn't know what they mean. He is forwarding the results to my neurologist.
My NCV indicated slow nerve conduction in my legs. He also noted depressed reflexes there. My EMG noted jittery potentials in my feet.
I asked him about ALS and he said "No" since I have no weakness. He said that he saw a patient with ALS the previous week, and said that although this patient's EMG was borderline, the other symptoms (weakness, hyperactive reflexes, etc.) were convincing.
I actually gave him a copy of the Hart et al. (2002) article about autoimmune peripheral nerve excitability. He said that he was very interested in reading it.
