Sharing Troubling Symptoms: Eyelids & Eyes

Hello to everyone. I have been doing alright mentally since I last posted; however, my symptoms have persisted. The swallowing difficulties are not here anymore thank God, and the speech is back to normal.

Let me ask about these new troubling symptoms:

1. My eyelids and around my eyes are going crazy all day (tops and bottoms on both sides). This especially happens after I close them hard or sneeze.

2. My jaws do the same thing, and have a multitude of tiny twitches all day all over them especially after I bite down. My jaw also locks into place unless I pop it and release it. I get headaches all over my head, and dizziness as well.

These things are really distressing, and I am past the point of worrying about it. I am reaching the end of the semester, and I am driving myself insane. I thought after a clean EMG I would be fine; however, the doctor also tested my swallowing, and that ended up to be normal.

Please let me know if any of you have gone through similar things, and what you have done to relieve yourselves. Thank you again.

Also, it seems like one side of my face is drooping a little bit. I don't know if it was always like that, or just because I am worrying about something new now (i.e. - bad brain tumor).

Seems normal. If you had an EMG done even more. I also think my left side is dropping a little bit. Did you get a funny sensation lately on that side of the face. Similar to tingling prickling? I did thats why im asking.

mmimen -

Had it. face (especially around lips) still twitches often, as does eyes, side of head over ears, nose, etc. It comes and goes. No worries.

What did I do to get over it? Well, for one, *** rarely presents anywhere other than the limb; if it does, onset is always sudden, rapid and severe...not like twitching eyes or a tight throat. Like -- can't swallow your own saliva severe.

It's a vicious cycle, and I think each "new" experience is tough. Hang in there -- this too shall pass.

Hey mmimen:

My daughter is away studying hard, hopefully:shock:, and she too is very stressed at this point in the semester. She doesn't have a website to go to so she called me and cried. I am quite sure that I made her feel better at the expense of myself feeling worse. After that call I began to twitch and tremble like when it all began. Ah, those were the days when, as a newbie..yikes, hit me, what am I saying.

I have had unbelievable twitching of the face, the side of my mouth was actually being visibly moved for about 3 months. It still arises from time to time, and perhaps it always will. I am very ugly so it doesn't really matter anyway. You no doubt are a young and handsome stud muffin with many young ladies at your beck and call. ;) Now those really were the days. :D)

I am so glad the swallowing issues have resolved. This in itself should tell you how entirely well you are. Your young and you've had the old twitching switch turn on before your time, before you had time to have a middle age crisis and kids. Dang you youngsters for doing everything better, even anxiety. No doubt when you are forty-five, my age, you will be dishing out mind bending advice to all the young'ns on BFS.com, while I will be feebly typing out bowel movement remedies on ADS.com (Almost Dead Syndrome).

You have the world by the tail, so keep on swingin' it. I like the feeling of being dizzy.

Cheers,
Basso

I also have the face and eye twitches (top and bottom of the eye). My lips twitch occasionally too. I also get a quivering on the left side of my mouth if I go down from a quint to a soft smile. That still worries me occasionally, then my 15 year old said to me yesterday, look mom, my face does the same thing as yours and then my 12 year old said, hey so does mine. Well, we can't all have something terrible, although I do think my girls can be high strung at times (just like good OLD mom). Anyway, I think you are fine and am glad to hear the swallowing problem is at bey.

I had the eyes for about a month once. It felt like my eyeballs themselves were twitching. Now I still get it occasionally, but not for such a prolonged time.

And this week I got my first buzzy lip twitch. It actually made me giggle and smile, because it tickled, and I knew what it was-silly bfs.

Like others have said, when new symptoms come it can be rough, but keep coming back here and you will receive the assurance and comfort you need.

My face also twitches from time to time. Ususally it is my lips, my eyes, my eyebrows or above the ears, and sometimes my nose. I also have that quivering on my left side of the mouth that Sharon describes. This summer it really freaked me out and I tested a thousand ways of smiling, looking at the sun etc. Now I think that is quite normal, and I am obsessed with other dangerous symtoms ;)
