Reducing Facial Twitching

Hi Ish,

Well, I have tried magnesium, amino acids, fish oils, and every other vit, or mineral that might help. My twitching has been reduced somewhat, but I am currently taking Klonipin, so I don't know if the twitching is better or I am just not paying such close attention. I took neurontin for a week, but my face went crazy twitching, I don't really think it was due to the neurontin, but I'm not going to take the chance again. I have a follow up with my neuro in October and I'm going to see if I can try the Bethanachol. My cramping is getting to me now, I wonder if there is anything that woulld help with that!

Very significant doses of Calcium 600 mg along with Magnesium 300 mg 3x/day has made my cramps essensially go away even after a day of intense exercise....no change with the fasiculations though. Hope that helps. Lynn

Valium 5mg every eight hours and klonopin in the evening.. electrolyte enhanched water and epsom salt and baking soda baths and plenty of rest..massages on a regular basis if you can afford it provides great relief from BFS but it is very costly... eat healthy and have a positive additude or else this syndrome can lead to depression and withdraw,,, even suicidal thoughts

A note about Lamotrigine (Lamictal) -- my brother (who is an MD) says that it has a rare, but potentially fatal side-effect: a severe rash which occurs within 2-3 weeks of beginning treatment. This rash can proceed to toxic epidermal necrolysis (skin tissue death). Although rare, it's best to know the potential problems.

Hi,
I'm still using Klonopin and Neurontin. It dulls the symptoms, but they never completely go away. Muscle twitching is minimal, my main complaint is buzzing, tingling, and tremulous sensations. I only take .5mg of Klonopin 2x day, and Neurontin 100mg 2x day. Generic names are Clonazepam and Gabapentin. Have an appt with Neuro #3 on Friday. If I learn anything worthwhile...I'll pass it on.
