Neck Stiffness Relief Ideas?

I'm dying because of stiffness in the area of the neck. Trying to massage it myself but it won't go away. Took many hot showers but it seems not to go away.
I catch myself squeezing my teeth. I then try to relax but without great results.
Can anyone recommend me something?

I cannot recommand you something but maybe it comforts you that more people have this problem.. My neck is stiff for many month and the twitching in that area is very worse especially during the night. I am twitching for almost a year and it started in my hands/arms. It was there for a few months and now it is in my neck. I try to relax but I know that is very difficult and go to have some neckmassage.

My chiropractor helps wonders. You know that twitching can be caused by a pinched nerve in the neck area.
I often push on my vertabrae and move them around and it helps! I also lay on the floor, face up and have my husband pull gently on my neck, starting at the lower part of my neck/back and slowly pulling continuing all the way up to the scalp and holding it! It is awesome once he learned how! Val
