Mystery of BFS Tickle-Torture

here another thing the world doesn't need.....my left jar and my tongue (not the front but the part that's almost in my throat) and my palate tickle. It's like a kind of soft needles and pins and lasts for 2-3 hoursa day. It is kind of nasty feeling and today, as I tried to scratch my tickling gum with my tongue, even made me throw up. I'm wondering what surprises BFS still holds for me. Especially after very surprising hit-and-run-twitches in very private bodyparts that startle me to yell out sometimes...

I get the tongue and mouth tingiling. This can be caused by reflux, smoking or tobacco use and stress. My doctor said he thought it was a combo. I actually had geographic tongue. Sounds scary but the doc said it's harmless and even more of things pointing to extreme stress and anxiety. Hope that helps. Mine started before i had any twitching and it was on the back top of my tongue.

I have geographic tongue since I was a child and still have, comes and goes. Actually I never met someone sharing this  (if that'swhat you mean, lingua geografica).

Hey christinasgirl123,I'm with you on this mouth tingling issue, i get it especially on the left side where i also get face tingling and ear, for me it's been on 24/7 for a year and still there, other people have experienced remissions, i haven't.

But it's nothin bad, just something that can sometimes be annoying. I got it at the age of 3. My mum wasn't shocked, as shesees this quite a few times each year.

Hi ChrissiJust found this - I am a newbie here and posted earlier about my own weird mouth sensations which sound a bit like your palate tingles. Mine have been going on and off for a few weeks, it's like a creepy crawly sensation on my palate and it seems to affect my speech a bit. also having tingling tongue and I've had numb nose, numb lip and a 'stiff face' sensation for several months.just curious if your palate tingles sound like mine and if they come and go?

I'm in the geographic tongue group. My tongue is white and has the "islands" and is fissured as well. I read that you are born with it.German, can explain how this has to do with stress? Interesting!!!

You are kiddin me guys.. geografic tongue is seen in only 5% of population, and we are just having a g.t. gathering here....LOL..seriously, they say g.t. shows hyperexcitability of tongue cells that lead to increased desquamation.....LOL....I have never heard that word before, and now hyperexcitability pops up everywhere...
