Living with ALS: Long Journey

I dont think you are weird at all, that was never what I was trying to say, and I know it is scary being told by doctors that you have upper motor neuron signs but they dont know why, because that is what I was told over a year ago and I have heard repeatedly "we dont know why", it does suck and it is scary....but for the most part all the other symptoms match up to BFS way better then they do to a neuro nasty, so I chose a while back to just not worry about my brisk reflexes and ankle clonus.....all my other symptoms are alot of the same as what you describe, last year I could barely walk, I could hold onto very little (couldnt even do my makeup), when I did walk I had to hold onto my hubby alot just to keep my balance....but I can tell you for a fact that the majority of that was being made 10 times worse by my anxiety. And you and I are not the only ones on this board that have been told they have upper motor neuron signs, but just because we have them does not mean we are going to end up with the big nasty....You would be surprised at how much BFS can mimic more serious conditions.....I think if you just relax just a tiny bit, you will find much support here and find that your symptoms are quite similar to many on the board...My self included.take careRobynn :D)

You know, You have pretty much accepted that you have this disease. I must say that is the stupidest thing you can do.I'm not trying to be mean but seriously.A fractured femur fibula, bone cancer, lupus, RA, auto immune disease- non specific( my wife has that) and Fibromyalgia or anxiety can have relatively the exact same symptoms. The difference is all of these health issues are testable. While some are harder than others to find, they can all be pin pointed. Fibromyalgia and anxiety cannot. They are illnesses of elimination. " we can't find anything so you must have Fibromyalgia or anxiety". You have been tested and have been told you are okay. Do you have any idea how many people have issues and never go to the doctor or go and believe them and just chalk their symptoms up to stress, fibro, bfs, conversion disorder, tension myositis, pirformis syndrome, tmj, etc... These are all benign and the patient almost always gets along in life with their issues being exactly what their doctor told them..You are going at this thing full force. Your fear has made you blind at this point. Did you try and do what I told you? If you think that a 99% chance of being okay is indicative of likely being sick you just can't see it.Again, I'm not calling you names but trying to get you to open your eyes.

Fear has gripped her. She can come out of it. We all know that when you begin to accept that thinking it many times takes exhaustion to look up again and evaluate what your real situation is. munecagirl22, I'm not talking as if you don't hear the conversation. I actually hope you do hear what everyone is trying to tell you.
