Have you tried physical therapy? Both sciatica and a tight piriformis muscle can cause all sorts of leg problems; weakness, pain, tingling, etc. This is, however, not the domain of a neurologist - more like a spine guy. Check out this link for one explanation You wouldn't believe how many people of all ages have this - many attribute the increasing occurrence with people sitting so much - in front of computers, in the car, you name it. The pain and spine guys are making a killing off it doing pain blocks, etc. as the sciatic nerve gets so inflamed that people will do anything to alleviate it. Exercise and stretching will help, a good physical therapist can also give recommendations and therapy to relieve some of the problems. That said I think I'll go stretch.....

Personally I do not have any pain, just weakness in my left leg. I have not met with my NEURO in over a week, the weakness in still constant although it does not appeat to have gotten worse. I also have been doing additional leg exercises to test the leg and my overall strength has not decreased. It has been five weeks since my symptoms began to occur and although they have remained the same there is NO ATROPHY and the weakness does nto appear to be getting worse. I still can run two to three miles a day, which I guess is a good sign. aIt is so tough to get ALS out of my head although I have been told by me NEURO that I have no clinical signs of the disease and uin his opinion "NO ALS". Any tips on how to tet ALS out of your brain when you accompanied with constant weakness?

Apparent weakness can be caused by a compressed nerve. I say apparent because if you can run 3 miles you are not weak. That is the first tip. Other tips to get it out of your head: als is a progressive disease - it gets worse and worse and does not remain the same [so you don't have it]. Ask your doc to explain the difference between the symptoms - this is not a gray area for the neuros - they have studied it and know it well. Tiredness and weakness can be caused by many things - make sure you have had all your blood chemistry checked....good luck and go for another run!
