Left Calf Twitching: Is it ALS?

My left calf started jerking today every time it twitches. Is this just a big twitch? I have heard ALS patients do not get twitches big enough to move limbs. I did have three cups of coffee this morning.

I have had the jerking thing in my fingers before, just not my leg.

Sometimes I jerk out of the blue and sometimes I have a strong twitch near a joint and jerk out of reaction to it. The weirdest ones are when I have a strong pin p rick twitch in one leg and the opposite leg jerks in reaction. As neurotic as I can get about the bad disease these events don't concern me.

I'd bet that was just a strong twitch. Maybe it was just a "larger" twitch than what you are used to and so it caught your attention and caused your calf to jerk. Either way, you are ok. )
