Joints Constantly Cracking?

Before all of this bfs stuff began, I would have cracking joints very mildly. Now it seems like my joints are always cracking all day. I walk down stairs and all I hear is the crick cracking of my ankles, knees, etc. I also have this thing that happens to my chest/breastbone area. Sometimes if I slightly turn my shoulders I feel the pressure in my chest, I then turn at a 180 angle to "crack it." Ok that probably made no sense, but if it did please let me know. Also when I bend my fingers, or stretch out my arm after it's been bent for a while, I get cracks in my finger or elbow.

No, I haven't been tested for Lyme. I mentioned it to one doctor and he told me that what I described didn't sound like Lyme, and that it was unlikely for city folk here in California. I may have to get that ruled out when I have new insurance in January.

Hi Jay,yeah, me too. Cracking everywhere, all the time. Can't remember a time when this was different, though.Couldn't say that in this regard BFS made any difference for me.

hi Jaymy joints crack everywhere, but this is a lifelong conditon because I am a hypermobile person. when I am getting good massage, my ribs crack wherer they are joining to the chest plate :))) My own wrists for example are made funny bony noise when I swawe them in the air ;))))many many BFS fellows start to note cracking as a result of BFS flareup. I think we experience some changes in ligaments which make them less elastic so cracking becomes more evident.

Thanks everyone!! Glad I'm not the only one that has crackling body parts. Now I won't feel so bad when someone asks, "Is someone stepping on bubble wrap? Oh no, that's just Jay coming down the stairs!"

I have friend her joint make funny sound , she don't even have BFS :D) , it funny once I was feeling down about my cracking sound, next day I meet her and I was laugh a lot hearing her

This is one of my biggest complaints with "my BFS" is this constant cracking of the joints. All joints. It is so bad that when I use my right hand for too long (doing certain things) that it becomes painful and I have to crack all my knuckles to loosen them up and then continue using my hands. My knees, big toes, shoulders all crack now all day long and at times seem very sore. I am pretty hypermobile myself as I can still put my leg behing my head which I know is a bit odd for a 225lb former football player.I have not a single idea, nor did the multiple ALSMND specialists that I have seen, have any expalantion for the cracking joints. One of them even asked me if I have seen a rhuematologist. Which i have not. I was bitten by a tic, a small one, before this started in the state of Missouri. I am hoping for a positive Lyme test, but I have been twice negative on the Western Blot. Thank you Jay for starting this topic again as I cannot understand or comprehend this sx. (Yet to find one sx I do comprehend, but hey, thats the nature of this BFS)

Hey Greg,I would think Lyme as well with the tick bite and all. Were your tests done through IgeneX up in Palo Alto? I hear that is really the way to go if you want accurate results. I hear you about the Rheuma, I could probably see 6 different specialists to address all of my issues!Drives me batty this BFS!

This 'symptom' has been very noticeable for me. I was golfing at the end of the summer and the guy I was golfing with asked me what the hell that snapping noise everytime I took a swing. The chest grind-crack is the worst, sounds awful. I am not sure if this is really related to BFS or not. I have been paying more attention to other people ever since this started and I have noticed a number of people with loud cracking joints. I've also noticed throat clearers, coughers, constant swallowers, spit-while-they-talkers, constant-yawners, limpers, termorers, and overlaughers, so I chalk up any of those symptoms as stuff many people have. Have not personally met any other muscle twitchers though...
