Do you think your tongue has twitched? If yes and you are referring to something you only see when sticking your tongue out and looking at it in the mirror this is normal. An actual symptom-type twitch would be something you feel and maybe can see if you look when your tongue is inside the bottom of your mouth. The same things that cause other muscles in your body to twitch or other nerves in your body to produce sensations (tingling, buzzing, etc) can effect your tongue. So like twitching in general, it can be a sign of something bad or a sign of something treatable or a sign of something transitory effecting your nerves, or a sign of the mystery BFS that all we know about is that it is benign. I have a couple tongue twitches a day (as many on this board have reported if you search the posts you'll find them). No doctor has told me it means any more to them than my other twitching symptoms. I would say the tongue gets more attention because it is easily visible if there is a problem because there is no fat covering the muscle so you can see the activity if it exists, especially in a constant state. It also can effective life functions like eating and talking. I have no problems with any of these things. I have seen studies about people with other nerve condiions (CIDP, BFS, idiopathic peripheral neuropathy) and several note a certain small (10% or less) that get the symptoms in their tongue.I hope this answered your question.Krackersones
