It's a single protein in a whole protein system that is involved in recycling of "waste" in nerve cells. Kind of a intracellular "transporter" . I don't think there is a special "ubiquilin" diet, but I think a healthy diet with lots of anti-oxidants ( Vitamin E, Omega fatty acids (Fish), and everything found in coluored food and vegetables, tomatoes are fine for lycopene) is a good idea because these things can mess up your DNA (which leads to mutations and "wrong" proteines) and they can harm normal proteins as well. Cutting down free radicals means no smoking, no "chemical" food and I'd keep an eye on aspirine (also free radicals) and certain iron-substitution. Red meat is also producing free radicals, so I would suppose not to eat a big steak twice a day But that's just my 5 ct, I'm not a doctor.
