Friend's father with ALS

Your welcome Lisa! I was reluctant to post because I didn't know if it would just make people worry more. My point was that this disease is incredibly rapid, you would know something is very wrong. And yes, even as his neurologist said, significant weakness is the hallmark sign, facisculations follow.

A year ago I would have been afraid to see him, but I finally have reached a point (after almost 3 years) that I am sure I don't have ALS, and I was tired of spending my life worrying. I stopped enjoying what I have including my family. Looking back at it now, it was a horrible way to live. I literally spent 2 years of my life being unhappy and worrying myself sick. What a waste of time.

I understand how people become concerned...of course, we've all been there. However, it's so important to keep things in perspective. Worry and anxiety will rob a person of the enjoyment of this wonderful life we are all given.
Sue :)
