Exploring Causes of Calf Cramps

Today I had a cram in my calf. I admit that I provoked it volountary because I wanted to understand why I have cramps during the nights but never during the days.So I had this cramp and during the same time I had hundreds of fasciculations on this calf. It was like many waves on my calf. Anyone who had a look at his muscle during a cramp noticed this?Thanks. I really don't like what I saw...

Yeah, this is pretty common. There's a youtube video of someone getting cramps along with fasciculations in his calf, however, if your description is that it was like a wave, then it may be that you had no fasciculations, and the muscle as a whole was rippling as it does in a cramp.
