Experiencing Twitch-Related Restlessness

Hi there,I've been a twitcher for a few months now and I've tried to put it in the back of my mind. However, lately I've noticed that I've had sort of an inner "restlessness" in my arms and sometimes my feet and legs. Mostly the left side of my body. It's almost like an urge to move that is only quenched when I stretch my arm out or flex my fingers or toes. Anyone else experience this.....please respond as I'm pretty freaked out by it, I'm 29 years old and was "healthy" until early August when I started twitching after learning my Dad is showing symptoms of a deadly neurodegenerative disease (Huntington's) and I've been twitching ever since. Please Help!!

Yes, My grandfather died of it and so did my Uncle. My dad is 57 and he looks to be in the early to middle stages. It's amazing that we missed it all these years, but looking back it all adds up...Anger issues, some balance issues, etc...It's very subtle and then all of a sudden it's there and you are staring it in the face. I'm scared to death but I've heard that muscle fasciculations similar to what I am experiencing (backs of calves, thighs, arms, back, buttocks, feet) are not a symptom of Huntington's. Those are more finger tapping and random restless behaviors. It scares me because I have this achey feeling in my left arm and leg that just doesn't go away. I don't know if I'd call it restless or what, it's hard to describe. Just very uncomfortable is the best way to put it. Thanks anyone for your replies!!

Go do some research on Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). Even though it has Leg in the name, it can pretty much happen anywhere in your body. And the symptoms sound very similar to what you are experiencing. Don't worry, you won't run into any scary webpages. RLS is similar to (the same thing as?) BFS and it is actually considered a little more treatable.
