It is natural to be concerned with possibly torn muscle I think...But I just see a difference between torn muscle and dead one on my point of view, so I believe it is good to talk to physio but there is no need to be crazy about not having a needle stick into your calf. Calf twitches are so much common thing that as I told you many times doctors seldom look on it during EMG (as there is a high chance to have just fascics here which wuld be non-conclusive).Write to TwitchyMD becasue his knowledge is very specific. If he would not explain you details about why emg is made in this or that way, I do not know who else here can do that. He IS a neurologist, with speciality in pathlogical processes, and he lives with non-expired ALS fear for 8 years already despite on his knowledge and general medical experience, so he would understand you to the point.
