Discovering Relief for Twitching

Just discoved that I can.... by hanging from a bar (as per used for pull ups) and raising my calfs up. Both hamstrings start to painfully cramp within a second, so I immediately have to release and let legs fall back straight. Thoughts ? (My symptoms previously...(age mid 50's)...twitching started about 2 months ago...twitching in calves continuous 24/7...twitching all over body intermitant.... occasional leg pains. No actual weakness anywhere...can do various leg excercises (including hamstring specific) same number of reps as 2 years ago)

 Exactly...planting weeds in your garden...I think that is a GREAT metaphor AllGoodHere...considering I spent waaaaay too much time doing that this weekend...I'm quite annoyed.

I would not read too much into this type of cramping. I remember getting foot cramps every time I swam with fins when I was a child/teenager. I also got calf cramps from riding a bike over the years long before the onset of all this twitching. I think exercise induced cramps are run of the mill. Better to focus on symptoms that are truly unusual if you are going to be concerned and even then if there is no progression, disability, or unrelenting pain then even those should just be gotten used to I guess.

Yup. I just wrote about this on another thread. Never had it before my bfs. You're talking about the excruciating, nasty, make-you cuss out loud type of cramps, right? Yeh. Hate those. I get them in the bottoms of my feet, my toes, calves, and less frequently my fingers and hands. Normal bfs. Blessings, Sue

planterflexion of feet voluntarily for about 10 seconds each...cramps without fail...happens bc all muscle fibers are recruited..charlie horse back of leg behind knee...second that of curling toes and charlie horse like a f'n plantar fascitis for 20 seconds...same symptoms in biceps upon forcefull contraction...and in stomach for holding a crunch for 20 seconds..you're fine
