Directing Digital Mystery Game Directing a Digital Mystery Game

I have a headache..should I be worried.I think all to be said has been said.....I have nothing to add, except to say I would think a 17YO would be very very unlikey to have anything sinister...except maybe the odd big zit! :)seeyaR

I woke up with a horribly sore and stiff neck that hurts down to my shoulders. Google says I probably have meningitis and should call 911 because I might be having a heart attack.Alternatively, it could be:1. Fibromyalgia2. Cervical arthritis or spondylosis3. Ruptured disk4. Small fractures to the spine from osteoperosis5. Spinal stenosis6. Infection of the spine (osteomyelitis, diskitis, abscess)7. Spine cancerThe funny thing is, I've woken up with a stiff neck probably 50 times in my life but Google only tells me about the horrible things that could be causing it. cenkay, I only post this because 99% of the time waking up with a sore and stiff neck means you slept funny, or you're very stressed or you exerted yourself too much the previous day and it's going to be better tomorrow. This is why you never google symptoms. If it's enough to be concerned about, go to your doctor. (S)he knows what it probably is, not what it could be.I'm a pretty smart guy, but I've noticed that I am incredibly, incredibly dumb when it comes to diagnosing myself. I think most people are the same way which is why even doctors go to see other doctors....and now the Aleve is kicking in and it's starting to feel better. Guess I don't have meningitis.

I agree that TD was just trying to be helpful, so I hope others will realize that and avoid painting him as a fear mongerer or someone whose intent is to cause problems. At the same time, I think he should have realized by now that he can't just spout off medical knowledge and analysis without using a filter. This is a community to support people trying to deal with BFS and its associated anxiety. I hope TD realizes from people's feedback that often he is causing more harm than good even though his intensions may be purely for the good.

Thanks for support here and in PMs.abbitBouncyBunny, LisaLM: Yes I admit sometimes I am just trying to provide the poster with as many information as I have and sometimes it may cause a harm if misinterpreted or misundrestood OR because of my wording which is far from perfect (english is my 3rd language), which is my fault. What I was trying to say Cenkay was just that MG can present with this symptoms but I did stress out that its essential part is fluctuating weakness and tiredness so he could not be scared as he is not experiencing these symptoms and mainly, its not nasty disease anymore. He then aksed me about mild forms of diseases like muscular dystrophies etc. so I answered. I think I should have used wording like "one of the causes for your problems might by MG, if your ptosis is real and you have weakness that gets better after resting". Instead, I splitted this info into more posts. I am sorry for that, sometimes I just write faster than I think and expect that everyone is able to follow me.So yes, I will be really more careful and will take more time for answers in order to avoid this. I hope that nobody believed that my intention was to scare anyone, this board has nearly saved my life in first days of my tongue fasciculations and I will be always thaknful to Robynn, PrayMantus, FantasticFurball and many others who responded very quickly that day.And there were quite a lot of people saying thank you to me, both in the threads or through PM.

Hi TD,Thanks for taking this in stride. All that I think any of us were asking is if you could implement some sort of filter on the information you give. Google can tell us what things COULD be, I think a lot of us come here to discover what things PROBABLY are in between our doctor visits. Many of us purposely avoid googling symptoms because it's much more harmful than helpful. So when we come here, we don't like to see fellow forum members fulfilling the role of Google that we've explicitly tried to avoid.I think you saw on the Symptom Management forum a month or so ago where half the forum was threatening to quit because you were freaking everyone out quoting studies of the rarest of rare cases that such things aren't helpful. I've been dealing with BFS for over 3.5 years and in that other post you were even freaking me out.

Hey guys,Just an offtopic, look what google thinks of this topic, now he's diagnosing us actively without us searching for anything, it's the end i tell you.

Yup thats google ad words for you. Nosy bastards will add a cookie to your computer and track what you search for and which sites you visited and diagnose you with that!

Cenkay, thanks! Hope people now realize you were not scared of my reply...Glad you understood it right unlike the others. Also remember your face is not symmetrical and either of your eyelids might have been droopy all the time, you just never noticed. You said you were affraid of deadly disease...none presents with droopy eyelid itself.Enjoy your holiday and try to protect that eye as in the case of infection in periorbital area, your eyelied may be swelled because of infection/strain.Docen

Very true. I'll admit it, I have high anxiety about my twitching and overanalyze every post I read. Uhhhh... serenity now.By the way.... Happy Birthday Johnny! :D)

Exactly. That is the rule I have always followed when I post something on bfsforum.com. Always assume that for every one person who replies to your post, at least 500 people have read it and just didn't comment on it. Always keep in mind that you are writing for a mass readership here.
