Diagnosis Appointment: Any Concerns?

What did he say about a diagnosis? Did he say he is not concerend that this is anything sinister? Sounds like he is doing blood tests to be precautionary. Glad your appointment went well.

I think he wrote possible PNH, and is doing the bloodwork to check for possible causes. I have to take a closer look at the script, but it looked extensive (even included Lyme test). I have an appt. next month to go over the blood test results. I had a bad flare up in December after getting a virus and it lasted for a solid month. I’d twitch somewhere every 30 seconds. Fingers and forearms were the worst. It’s gotten very quite for the past two months. I haven’t had a finger twitch in a month (a record) and I might even go few hours without noticing a twitch. The main thing I get now is intermittent aches in my calves.

Good to hear that your symptoms are much better! FYI, I also had all of that bloodwork done and it came out normal. He took like 5 viles of blood from me. It sounds like our symptoms are very similiar also. My hands and forearms ar my hot spots. They are getting much better but I still notice twitching there, just not nearly as frequent, and the cramping and pain is almost gone. Actually I have a new hot spot that has developed over the last week. It is my right eye brow near the right corner of the eye.

bassman - I didn't ask about it, but if I can remember next month, I'll ask. I don't get full blown cramps, its more like an ache/tightness that feels like it's going to cramp.

Excellent news!! :D) :D)

No matter how scary it is to be scrutinized by a neuro in a white coat, it must be almost worth it to hear him say 'nothing abnormal here'

I'll drink your good health tonight,

Julia

Bill,

I have the same as you, not full blown cramps, more achey muscles with some cramping. Mostly in calves and forearms, occassionally in biceps. The best way to describe my pain is if I rest my forearms on the corner of a desk they start to hurt, or if I stand for a while my calves will start hurting. Or sometimes my biceps just ache. Very annoying.

I already seen a neuro that basically said nothing. Did an EMG and some blood work. He said no signs of anything serious (which of course was great news) but after that he really didn't have any suggestions for my twitching and cramping. Sort of got disinterested after he found nothing serious.

I have an appointment with a Rhumetologist (sp) in about 3 weeks. Not sure if he is the right DR. to see, but my GP thought to give it a try. I'll let everyone know what he says in a few weeks. I am not very optimistic though. I have had these symptoms (twitching and muscle pains) for almost a year now and sort of have the feeling that I may have to live with it unless it goes away on its own.

bassman,
I have similiar symptoms to you as well. Twitching all over but slight pain and tighness in my hands, forearms and calves. Not debilitating pain or cramps, just annoying. I don't even know if their cramps, could just be tight muscles.

Like you both of my GP's are not concerend about my symptoms and with all of the testing they have done (most of them because I pretty much demanded them) they think it is all anxiety related and nothing bad.

Bassman - Yes, sounds like the same thing. I had it in my forearms for the first 2-3 months or so, and it did go away by itself. It was only the last month or two that it started in my calves (mostly the right side). I was going to go to an immunologist, but canceled the appt. because the neurologist seemed to have ordered every blood test possible. Good luck, let us know what they say.
