Bill,
I have the same as you, not full blown cramps, more achey muscles with some cramping. Mostly in calves and forearms, occassionally in biceps. The best way to describe my pain is if I rest my forearms on the corner of a desk they start to hurt, or if I stand for a while my calves will start hurting. Or sometimes my biceps just ache. Very annoying.
I already seen a neuro that basically said nothing. Did an EMG and some blood work. He said no signs of anything serious (which of course was great news) but after that he really didn't have any suggestions for my twitching and cramping. Sort of got disinterested after he found nothing serious.
I have an appointment with a Rhumetologist (sp) in about 3 weeks. Not sure if he is the right DR. to see, but my GP thought to give it a try. I'll let everyone know what he says in a few weeks. I am not very optimistic though. I have had these symptoms (twitching and muscle pains) for almost a year now and sort of have the feeling that I may have to live with it unless it goes away on its own.
