CK Levels & Muscular Dystrophy?

Hello,

I'd like to post a question to all BFS'ers. I've had my CK (Creatine Kinase) levels checked and it's around 700. My doctor said this can be a sign of a mild muscular distrophy, like the muscles slowly start to breakdown releasing this substance in the bloodstream and twitches are also a common symptom accompanying that. I'm wondering if more people had checked this simple blood test. Normal levels are not more than 200.
Any insight ?
Thanks !

I initially had a high level too and my GP told me the same thing about possible muscular dystrophy. Were you doing anything involving a lot of physical exertion prior to the blood test like excercise or yard work? I did a lot of yard work in the summer heat 1 - 2 days prior to my test and my test also came back high. On a retest it came back normal after limiting my physcial activity prior to the test.

Many people have tested high ck levels. It is associated with physical exertion too as others have mentioned. It's not necessarily indicative of anything terrible so don't stress.

I am on the other end -- 4 blood tests since this started 7 months ago and CPK has never been higher than 82 (that was back when I first started). Adolase has not even a factor...don't remeber that one...
