BFS: Unseen Twitches and Major Thumpers

Okay, all this talk about "fine" twitches and "not feeling" twitches and hands and feet is scaring me.

I have flickery twitches in the insteps of both feet I cannot feel.

I have a very small twitch on the outside of my palm that I cannot feel.

HOWEVER, I have some major thumpers in my legs, knees and calves that wake me from a sound sleep!

Is this normal for BFS?

Also, wouldn't ALS start in one hand and/or foot and not all of them plus the calves, eyelids, etc.???

Peg,

Please try to relax. I remember the day 1month into super electrical feeling twitches when I looked at the arches of my feet and saw twitching movment I couldn't feel - I thought for sure this was a sign of ALS. It is not. My internest said so and my neuro said so. There are some areas where there is more sensation than others.

I have a twitch on the outside of my palm that I sometimes feel and sometimes don't feel - this is probably due to the intensity of the twitch. The fact that you feel any of the twitching is what is important. You are in the category of people that feel twitching... and according to StephG22's neuro, twitching you can feel is not the ALS sort.

Normal for BFS.

That's right. I think that our feet and hands are not as sensitive as other parts of our body (otherwise it would hurt to walk!) so we just don't feel as much there. Also some twitches are just not intense enough to feel while others are. Very normal in BFS.
