BFS: Symptoms & Anxiety

hi alli was diagnosed with BFS in late 2010 and usually experience my twitches & cramps in the soles of my feet & calves. Since the diagnosis i've been much calmer about the whole thing but lately i've had some other symptoms that are freaking me out.Face twitches, itchy skin on the face, muscle cramps and spasms in the face (forehead, cheek etc) and most freaky of all what i call 'pallet wiggles' - that creepy wriggly feeling but in the roof of my mouth. What worries me is, is there even a muscle there?Does anyone else have experience with this? i am constantly rubbing my tongue along the pallet to try stop the wriggles. It also affects my speech.Any comments would be appreciated!

Hi JujuleeThanks for replying.I've been twitching on and off (legs and feet) for a couple years. Have had a finger twitch once for a few weeks, and years back a toe twitched for months. I get the odd vibration sensation in the leg and random twitches here and there. Do you also get the palate wiggle sensation then? Can you describe how yours feels? Mine happens most when i try speak and my speech comes out a little weird.I've also had periods of exessive saliva over the past couple of years, and other speech problems.Today the palate wiggles are bad and in addition I'm having a weird feeling of build up of pressure (not painful just horrible) in my neck and head, like someone's squeezing my neck and my head is getting full of pressure.Feeling very freaked about the whole thing, feels like I'm going to pass out all the time.Just anxiety I guess. :-/

Hi,Well, I think my palate is just twitching like every other part of my body. I feel like a little heart beating inside… But it’s not constant. It comes and goes. I have to admit that those mouth/face twitches can be really scary. I’m not a doctor, but I’m pretty sure that if you’ve been having problems with excessive saliva and other speech problems for so long, it’s not ***, since the bulbar form of *** progresses rapidly (really rapidly). As for the pressure in your neck and head, I’ve been feeling those same sensations lately (it has started a couple of weeks ago)! By the end of the day, it always gets worse. I don’t know if it’s related to my cervical arthrosis, but I doubt it because it’s not severe at all. I wish I could know the cause of that… Do you have sinusitis sometimes? I do, and who knows, maybe I’ve been having one all this time (I had a cold a month ago)… I should probably go to the doctor (even though I doubt it’s the case)…

Hello, I am also experiencing this with roof of mouth and also tongue tinngling. But it comes and goes in a few minutes. However, I started twitching last december, so it will soon be 1 year  . But lately I am ok. Since I found this forum my twitches are almost gone- yesterday I twitched only twice :D) , which is nothing compared to what I was feeling before. Its a proof that it comes from anxiety. I my case body massage and Mg helped a lot. Do not worry about your mouth, I had twitching, tingling... everywhere. And the head pressure- I also had it last month few times, it came and went away. Dont know what it was, but as I said I am ok now, so you will also be :D)

Thank you both for your replies.I also think (when I have my logical brain on ;)) that bulbar *** would have shown up more by now as i've had the speech / saliva stuff n and off for years.Nice to know you both also get weird sensory stuff too.Today my palate wiggles have moved up to either side of my nose. I am getting visible, rapid-fire twitches on either side of the nose. Can either of you tell me what the deal is with 'sensory' stuff? People on here seem to mention it as a seprate issue. is it good or bad.My main fears at the moment, with these facial symptoms, are *** and brain tumor - esp due to the pressure feeling in my head.I don't get sinus stuff or allergies myself...Thanks again!
