BFS Leg Stiffness: Seeking Relief

Does anyone else diagnosed with bfs suffer from leg stiffness? My calves and hamstrings have gotten very tight and almost feel like they will cramp sometimes. I am afraid this will never go away or get worse. My job can be very physical at times and I am afraid the stiffness will prevent me from working.

I appreciate any comments or suggestions for relief. I stretch well every day and it does not seem to help.

Thanks,

Swift_TaySwift20,

This is a very common part of bfs. do a search of the archives and you will find 100's of posts about the same issues.

Take care,

Gary

Swift_TaySwift20, I have had exactly what you describe. I have had BFS for 3 years now. The good news is that the calf achy/cramp went away after 2 years for me, but the hamstring started to act up. It was so bad I could hardly walk for two weeks. It is better now, it is a constant ache, but I play tennis and I'm cautious because I feel like I'm going to pull it worse. Anyway, when it was really bad, I went to an acupunturist and a chiropractor. It did get better. I'm not sure if it was the treatment or the moist heat I applied.
Anyway, the hamstring has been sore for probably a year. Constantly reminding me that it's there.
I'm hoping it will go away like the calf has. Good luck!

I have the leg stiffness and achiness in the calves and upper leg especially in my right leg. It feels like the muscles are in a state of almost cramping all the time. Even the muscles around the hip/pelvic area hurt. The mucles will bother me just driving my car and moving my right leg from the gas to the break.

I have been taking neurontin for about 5 weeks. For the first few weeks it did seem to improve the pain & stiffness in the legs but I think now that my body is use to the level of medication that I'm taking the pain and stiffness has been returning over the past week.
