BFS & Dizziness: Experiences?

Has anyone experienced dizziness with BFS? I was diagnosed with benign vertigo 10 years ago so I've lived with it for a while, but lately - when all the other symptoms started - the dizziness seems to have gotten more consistent. Less acute, the room isn't spinning - but it seems to be around more often. I don't know if it's related or if it's something entirely separate. Could be either, but I'm still wondering if anyone else has experienced dizziness with BFS? Thanks,Joanne

Yes, I have experienced dizziness quite often. I may have a few bad days, then return to normal for a few weeks just to get dizzy again for a few days. I have not been able to attribute it to anything. Some medicane will cause dizziness, however I will have dizzy spells even when I am not on meds. As a matter of fact I refrain from taking any meds. during my "dizzy days" as I know it will only make it worse.

Hi....This is my most bothersome symptom. I have not been diagnosed with BFS; though a neurologist told me that he believes that my nerves have been hyperexcitated by an autoimmune reaction. Thus, I assume that I have BFS. I am dizzy all the time. It is not a vertigo feeling (however sometimes a have vertigo too). It is a feeling of being unstable, being on a boat. The only medication I take is supplementary diet with L-cartitine. I am still wondering if what I have is BFS. I had three brain MRIs, a lot of blood work, ultrasounds, and many, many doctors visits (including 3 different neurologists).I hope you helped you.Christos

I've also been diagnosed with benign positional vertigo. Sometimes I'll have serious bouts, room spinning, etc, (especially when turning my head). Sometimes just slight difficulities, off feeling, things slightly moving, etc. It started around the same time as my BFS and is worse when I have a relapse of BFS. If I wake up with the room "spinning" I know I'm about to have a "relapse" of BFS. Denise

Dizziness is a thing with me also. I have had two abouts of positional vertigo in the past three months. It's really bad with the room is spinning and the body is twitching--makes you really feel out of control. I can also relate to the generally off-balance sort of feeling. I deal with that one a lot. Some days are better than others.Cindy

Yes to the dizziness. I have not been diagnosed with BFS, or with anything else, after four visits with two neuros, two MRIs and two EMGs. My dizziness comes and goes but when it comes it stays for weeks or months at a time. Sometimes quite strong, almost room spinning but not quite. My neuro says I have some kind of peripheral neuropathy but is dizziness a symptom of PN?In any case I also have twitching, tingling, numbness and dizziness.Greg
