BFS as an Autoimmune Disorder?

I've often seen the theory that BFS is an autoimmune disorder. If that's the case, might there be an increased number of other autoimmune disorders in BFS sufferers' families? In my case, for example, two of my four brothers have MS (both mild, non-progressing cases for now), my mother has no thyroid function, and my daughter had an autoimmune disorder in which her platelets were attacked by her white cells ().

Do other readers have similar familial autoimmune issues?

Interesting question that isn't brought up enough...

My mother has rheumatoid arthritis. She got it when she was around 30, I was 28 when all this started...

Ankylosing Spondylitis (a type of arthritis) and Psoriasis. Non-immune issues include: IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and Migraine/Cluster headaches.

forgot to mention that one of my kids is being tested now poitive ana amongst other things I really don't think there is anything wrong it is more to rule out but I did find out a couple of months ago that they also twitch I was quite suprised to find that out

This subject has very much been in the back of mind. My mom, grandma, greatgrandma, 3 sibling of my grandma all have/had RA. My grandma started in her 40's, mom in her 30's. So did I inherit a week immune system??

Interesting thread...

Please consider Celiac Disease or Gluten Sensitivity when auto-immune issues have been discovered. Some of the biggies were mentioned in this thread: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Sjogrens, IBS, Vitiligo. There is much research that connects the gluten to auto-immune issues.
