Arm Pain and Twitching Worries

I'm sorry, I know I have been posting a lot lately but I can't get over the problems I have been having in my arm. I have been having pain mainly in my forearm for about two months. The thing that worries me is that this area has become such a hotspot for twitching. I still get random twitching all over, but this area is the worst. I get the most scared when I just move my arm and it starts to twitch as soon as it relaxes. Obviously, the muscles in this area are strained for some reason. Do strained muscles twitch more? When I try to relax the arm for a few hours it does feel better and twitch less. Strenght is still the same. Anyone else have anything like this?

My one forearm is sore a lot too, however, I think it may be carpal tunnel because it goes into my fingers in between my thumb and 1st finger. It could really be anything, try not to worry too much. Hot spots can come and go.Andrea

Just and update, I called my neuro about my arm problems, because I am not patient at all. He is going to see me next week to get a better idea. But, I asked him about another emg and he said he really did not want to to do one, it was completely unnecessary as I have already had one. He also said that when my finger moves every once in a while was totatlly normal. So anyway, I felt a little better as he seems not be thinking *** but maybe something else or maybe he is humoring me.

I get lots of twitching in my arms, including forearms and everywhere else and have for 16 months. Since you obviously have systemic twitching from your description and it is not at the "normal" level at least in your forearm, I wonder what your doctor's theory is for what is going on. I know a lot of neuros just say "bfs" but I wish more would offer up at least their opinion on what may be behind it and explain the basis for their opinion. It would be nice to have more information on this board on how much neuros discuss our set of symptoms with each other and whether information is shared between them informally.I think what made my symptoms become more difficult to deal with than other types of symptoms is the fact that the first set of neuros I saw acted like I had an alien inside me or I was crazy. They really did seem like I was the strangest patient they had ever seen and threw out theories that made no sense, like I was hyperventilating and causing the twitching when my breathing was actually extremely slow or saying my hand cramp was "writer's cramp" when the cramp was in my left hand and I'm right handed and my twitching was not limited to my hand. These statements made me feel like they knew nothing and did not even care to investigate. Of course, I've since found other doctors with a little more knowledge and professionalism but they still seem somewhat mystified but not totally without ideas.
