18yo Male Seeking BFS Diagnosis

Hi, I'm an 18 year old male and since last september I've been having a lot of neurological symptoms, many pointing towards BFS and essential tremor, though I've never gotten these diagnosed. My hands shake sometimes (on and off), and I have this strange tremor of my thumb that only occurs if I move my thumb inward towards my index finger. On top of this, I have ratcheting muscle movement, fasciculations all over, and a jaw tremor. I've seen a neurologist who gave me an MRI, which came out clean. He tried to give me an EMG but then told me I most likely don't need it.However, what concerns me most is what appears to be atrophy between my thumb and index finger. I didn't tell my neuro about this because I was scared of it being serious, so I brushed it off and hoped it was normal (stupid, I know). Now I'm really starting to worry about it. Basically the atrophy is a v shaped ridge that forms in between my thumb and index finger on the back side of my hand, as you can see in the images. It is the same on both sides. It's pretty pronounced when I try to pinch something or when I'm using a pen. My pinch grip feels slightly weak, but It might be perceived weakness. I don't have any problems using my hands, I can still open jars, turn keys, etc. I'm very confused, and scared, I feel like I'm too young to be getting these problems, and I'm just terrified I have some sort of central nervous system disorder. I'm scheduling an appointment with my neuro, but it might take a little while to see him, and I want answers right away. Also, I found this article: , and the pictures in there look a lot like what I have. The article is about ulnar nerve damage, but this is unsettling because I have it in both hands! Could it be a problem with my spinal nerves? I have slight scoliosis, could that be it? I'm just hoping and praying that its not anything serious. Note: in these images i'm flexing my thumb/pushing down on my index finger. If I don't flex it it looks normal. Left hand: Right hand:

Oh damned, I forgot them...but I have other no-atrophy pics with little arrows on , wait...see: no athrophy either: or no atrpphy part 3: I just bought a new camera and I looove how much more pronounced my dents are on my latest pics.....that is a good no-atrophy-picture-cam, I can really recommend the EOS T2 Rebel for taking pics of no atrophy :sick:btw..I took the pics in my sewing workplace, LOL, I do not live in a mess ;)

Jakay it is not d way to look for atrophy at that place.U have to assess muscle bulk in a relaxed state and what u r showing is just an apposite ie muscles in contraction state.Atrophy at that place is best seen by observing the volume of bulk of mass becoming prominent after u touch ur thumb with index finger firmly (with all fingers straight). If possible, post such pics.

Now, I am not known for my tact but i am going to be extra blunt in order to try and save you from the hell that some people on here, (me included) have been through,Do you have any weakness? By this, is there something you used to be able to do that you cannot now? This is a simple question. The illness you have in mind, is one i have personal experience of. I havebeenwhereyou are going if you don't listen to what we are saying. You do not have it. Stop looking for it. Ignore your symptoms and focus on life.......Trust me, this site and your train of thought will only bring you misery!L!!!Stay well.

Don't be scared. Your photos look normal, as everyone has said. And if you really have atrophy, you'll be noticing changes in what you can do and how much you can do. If the atrophy is progressive, as in many degenerative conditions, you'll notice progressive changes. People around you will notice, too. A separate thread suggests keeping a diary. It's a very useful tool. I refer to mine whenever I wonder what I was able to do or not do months or years ago.

Yo!From what I've Had seen weekness preceed atrophy, if there're not weekness before atrophy this IS NOT a real ATROPHY!Keep calm please! MarcoPs: I'm french my english Is not very good :D)
