Hi, I'm an 18 year old male and since last september I've been having a lot of neurological symptoms, many pointing towards BFS and essential tremor, though I've never gotten these diagnosed. My hands shake sometimes (on and off), and I have this strange tremor of my thumb that only occurs if I move my thumb inward towards my index finger. On top of this, I have ratcheting muscle movement, fasciculations all over, and a jaw tremor. I've seen a neurologist who gave me an MRI, which came out clean. He tried to give me an EMG but then told me I most likely don't need it.However, what concerns me most is what appears to be atrophy between my thumb and index finger. I didn't tell my neuro about this because I was scared of it being serious, so I brushed it off and hoped it was normal (stupid, I know). Now I'm really starting to worry about it. Basically the atrophy is a v shaped ridge that forms in between my thumb and index finger on the back side of my hand, as you can see in the images. It is the same on both sides. It's pretty pronounced when I try to pinch something or when I'm using a pen. My pinch grip feels slightly weak, but It might be perceived weakness. I don't have any problems using my hands, I can still open jars, turn keys, etc. I'm very confused, and scared, I feel like I'm too young to be getting these problems, and I'm just terrified I have some sort of central nervous system disorder. I'm scheduling an appointment with my neuro, but it might take a little while to see him, and I want answers right away. Also, I found this article: , and the pictures in there look a lot like what I have. The article is about ulnar nerve damage, but this is unsettling because I have it in both hands! Could it be a problem with my spinal nerves? I have slight scoliosis, could that be it? I'm just hoping and praying that its not anything serious. Note: in these images i'm flexing my thumb/pushing down on my index finger. If I don't flex it it looks normal. Left hand: Right hand:
