    Trying Melatonin For Sleep Issues

I have used ativan for over 2 years. I used to worry about the addictiveness of it, but I've been at 1/2 mg and not needed to increase. However, I try not to take every night all the time. I will switch to trazadone for a period of time. I am a terrible insomniac and both have helped me. I...

    Twitching in ALS Patients: Confusion

I just love it when you guys come back and share what your neuros have said. It is always very encouraging. I guess we're just going to have to accept the fact that we're just twitchy! :p Don't know why, don't know how, but one things for sure, its probably going to keep happening and we're...

Meds For Anxiety: Xanax, Klonopin, Lexapro

I was prescribed Lexapro in September of 2007 - stayed with it for 6 days and that's as long as I could stand it. I think if I had also had klonopin or something to help out at that first stage it would have been okay. I have several friends who use it and say they will take it forever. For...

    Learning About BFS

I have never had an emg, although my GP suggested one to allieviate anxiety. The neurologist I saw didn't feel the need to do one, but would if I insisted. I didn't insist. I am a year and 1/2 into this and still twitch - still have aches and pains, but still keep walking, talking, etc.

    Tracking Symptoms with Menstrual Cycle

For me, the twitching was definitely menopause related. But I think many things affect it. I know that I have been in a state of adrenal exhaustion for almost a year and coming back from that is a slow process. I twitch worse when the weather is yucky---when I am upset about something----when...

Burning Pain and Sense of Doom

Angus: Don't give in to the down feeling. You know you are okay, but you feel like crap today. I've had a few of those myself. I got up Sunday morning and the backs of my calves were hurting like the *beep*. I get the tingly, burning, feeling a lot. Are you under any more stress than...

    Felt Heartbeat in My Hands?

Yes, I've had that in my hands, the tops of my feet and even in my heels. I think it happens when you have tension in those areas. I don't get it with the heels, but it makes sense with the hands and other places.

    Possible MS Symptoms: Insights Needed

Hey sweetie, you're concentrating a lot on what your body feels like which is what we tend to do when we start having all these weird symptoms. If sounds like your doctor has given you the green flag so I wouldn't worry too much about any organic type of illness. I can honestly say that at...

    SOMETHING THAT HELPS ME

I'm 18 months into this twitching stuff. I've gone through the initial ALS terror - a couple of times - but am doing much better now. I still twitch, will probably always twitch - just a fact of life for me now. I can live with it, although sometimes it feels like my body is playing its own...

    Dads ALS Journey and Story

This was one of the most reassuring posts I've read. I think many of us experience so much anxiety over this because we don't have a clue what ALS is really like. I think its that fear of the unknown that causes us so much problem. I have been twitching for almost 18 months, but can still do...

Mario:This was a great post. I have NO doubt that there is a definite link between my twitches and the anxiety issues I have. You had many really good recomendations - some of which I do, some of which I don't--- like being on the computer right now at almost 11:pm. I need to go back to...
