    Welcome Back From Disney World

Thanks LisaLM for your reply! I have been told I have GAD by a neuro at Mayo. In fact, her and the supervising neuro stated my anxiety was producing my symptoms(twithcing, numbnes, etc..). But, when I come to this board and as time ticks away (2 1/2 years) it's hard for me to accept that...

    Discussing Arachnoiditis Symptoms

Perhaps inflammation would show in the brain, but I am still thinking it needs to be in the lumbar where the offending agent occurred, in my case an epidural? I am hoping LisaLM or TwitchyMD reads this a helps us understand this better.

    Discussing Arachnoiditis Symptoms

I am thinking the MRI needs to be performed in the specific area?

    Discussing Arachnoiditis Symptoms

Yes it is, Burger! I stumbled on archnoiditis while "informing" myself on anesthesia and BFS. When I read it, the symptoms described took me back nine years ago to the beginning of my BFS journey. Archnoiditis can be caused by viruses also, not just epidurals, which is how a lot of BFSers begin...

    Discussing Arachnoiditis Symptoms

Thanks, Gracely, for the response. Would a brain and c-spine MRI be sufficient? I did not have a lumbar MRI. My symptoms (9 years and counting) started months after have an epidural so...

    Discussing Arachnoiditis Symptoms

Hi everyone:I was wondering if anyone's neuro has mentioned arachnoiditis? If so, would arachnoiditis not be considered if you have sensations and twitching in the upper extremeties? Arachnoiditis symptoms are quite similar to a lot of BFSers' onset symptoms, so I am wondering if they are...

    BFS Surgery Experiences & Complications

Chrissi,I was short in my post, thus I'll try to explain it a little better. My GP was referring to the depolorization that takes place when someone is given "typical" general anesthesia. She explained that the muscles depolorize so that the surgery can be performed pain free. Once the...

    BFS Surgery Experiences & Complications

BTW... thanks for the reply post :)If I had to do it all over again, I would ask these types of questions at my neuro visit as oppose to being fixated on the dismissed disease we all fear in the beginning...do we have neuromyotonia?are we treated differently under anesthesia?

    BFS Surgery Experiences & Complications

I have read that article, but I am leery of it because my neuro once told me that the BFS relation to neuromyotonia is just a theory. Crazy, crazy, crazy...I hate revisiting all this stuff again. I have had this crap for 9 years and was trying to avoid facing anesthesia. :(

    Share Anesthesia Experiences for BFS

Thank you so much, Chrissi! :)I need a hernia repair, and I am scared to undergo anesthesia.

    Share Anesthesia Experiences for BFS

If so, did they follow different protocols for general anesthesia? Did you have any complications? Was your anesthesiologist made aware of your BFS? Any experience/info would be greatly appreciated. :)

    BFS Surgery Experiences & Complications

That's the funny thing...She told me that she thought my symptoms started AFTER surgery, which sort of *beep* me off because a doctor who has seen a patient for over 11 years should know your history, which happens to be that I have never had surgery. She apologized for not "remembering" and...

    BFS Surgery Experiences & Complications

Hi everyone! I haven't been on this board in a long time! I am a nine-year twitcher. Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has undergone surgery with BFS, and if so, were there any complications or other protocols followed? My GP scared me the other day by saying that I am not a canidate for...

Totally Crazy YouTube Video: Frog Legs!

Oh my goodness... Dr. Hart died? What happened? He didn't have BFS did he? I'm sorry to hear this news. I've been gone, so if anyone has the details, please post them. Thanks!

    Ceasing Symptoms During Car Rides?

Count me in on this one. In fact, my neuro asked if I ever have a moment inwhich I do not twitch. My response- riding in the car or while I'm in the shower.
