Zoloft for Anxiety and Twitches?

I guess what he was saying is that for someone who is anxious and not depressed, it can initially make them more anxious. Which you then can counteract with Klonopin and fuel the pharmaceutical companies of america...

I only know people who have taken Zoloft for depression, not for anxiety. And, has it helped decrease twitches for anyone out there???

But if I really do have GAD (which I believe since I've been dealing with health anxiety since I was very young...), isn't that because of a chemical imbalance that something like Lexapro or Zoloft would help?? I guess I just don't understand the difference between the two? Lexapro lists GAD as one of the disorders it is used for but Zoloft only lists panic disorder , which I don' really think I have?

Shelley,
I don't post much, but I do read. I just felt compelled to reply to your questions about antidepressants. I am going through the same thing you are, I have tried Effexor XR and Lexapro. Both were terrible side effects. I found with me, my health anxiety. The side effects put me into an anxiety nightmare, because the side effects proliferated every health anxiety issue I ever had all at once. The counsellling worked best for me, because it teaches you how to process information better. This is not to discourage you, some people have great success. But, do your remember if you ever want to come off of them,, that is another issue. My husband went on Lexapro, and I have to say I am quite jealous, he did great on it. But, again he doesn't have health anxiety and he can take any medication with effects.
