During a vacation in 2005, I was laying in a hotel room with my girlfriend when I noticed a rapid twitching in both my calves. It felt like they were working in teams. My left calf would twitch and then my right calf would respond with two twitches. It made me a little nervous but I passed it off as "just a twitch". I've had plenty of eye twitches, so I figured they would soon disappear.I was distracted by the rest of the vacation so I forgot all about the twitching. A few days later, I was back at work and noticed a little movement in my calf. I thought to myself, "My calves have been twitching for three days now!!!!" I Googled "calf twitching" and the dreaded three letter abbreviation came up. I was afraid to go to the doctor even though the twitching persisted. After 100s of Google searches, I kept reassuring myself that it must be normal twitching. I would go one day not even thinking about and the next totally panicking that something is wrong with my body. After a few months of worrying I came across an article about "BFS" which lead me to bfsforum.com. I never posted but I read extensively and found comfort in the posts. After about a year of my calves twitching, I realized nothing bad had happened to me yet so my panicking became less and less extreme. Throughout the years, my legs have continually twitched. I have mentioned it to my GP once and he passed it off from normal. Aside from that I have not been evaluated extensively by a physician. Even though my twitching is mostly in my calves, I have had twitches in my eye, arm, hand, neck, stomach, and temples. The temple twitching really freaked me out. I thought for sure something was wrong with my brain. Some how I calmed myself down. Now, five years later I feel 95% comfortable with my twitching. I have an occasional day when it really bothers me but I try to pass it off as "I'm just twitching."A little history...prior to my twitching, I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and stress at work. I had several panic attacks that freaked me out. I also had a couple of severe sinus infections around the time that I developed the twitching. Some more about the twitching...the actual twitches in my calves are more like flutters. Tiny spasms in various parts of the muscle but never the whole muscle itself. Sometimes it feels like tingling. The twitches never hurt. Although, early on my legs felt stiff and sore for a couple of months but nothing since then. I'm not sure if my calves always twitch but I can say that I often notice them. I've been twitching the entire time I've been writing this. When I'm stressed out, I feel like they twitch more.A little about me...I'm a 28 year old guy from California.I twitch, therefore I am.TBP.S. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have...
