Worrying About My Tongue

Last week, I bit my cheek while chewing gum. Then I started to worry, then I kind of nipped my tongue. This set me off into a worry about my tongue, so I have been checking my tongue nonstop, wiggling it rapidly from side to side, pushing it against my cheeks....now I think my tongue feels weird on the left side and I think I'm slightly slurring my speech even though I think that I can talk pretty rapidly without messing up....I feel like when I roll my R's, that the left side of the tip of my tongue isn't participating, or is it me?

I feel like I don't know what to do with my tongue...I'm always aware of it. It feels like it's stretched like it's resting on my teeth, especially on the left side. Sometimes my tongue feels sore

Does this make sense? If I can move my tongue around my mouth and if I still have tongue strength, is it okay?

I,m sure your tongue is OK. It may feel strange because you still check it's strange and (like any other muscle) your tongue may be strained.

Once year ago I was SURE I have tongue atrophy. I saw dents and holes in my tongue, I was sure that natural tongue moves are fasciculations, I was looking at my tongue in the mirror every time I could (in toilet in restaurant, at mirrors in shops). I also bit my cheeks and tongue quite often.

One year later I have no bulbar sympthomps and my tongue looks exactly like one year ago.

The power of imagianation :D)

Try not to worry, I know that easier say than do
