Where Do You Twitch?

Hi all,I was just wondering where you all twitch? I twitch 24/7 in my calves and now more and more in arms and back. So, where do you all twitch? Do you also have those 'large' twitches that make you're arm move completely? Thanks for answering.Kind regards,Bart

okay-- here goes :tongue (ick)abdomenarms ( mostly upper )legs ( all over-- calves, thighs )neckfeettoes movedfingers movedbreast buzz

I feel I have twitched in every muscle but here are the ones that happen enough times to make the list:Arm: forearm (had a near continuous one while trying to sleep yesterday, this one went off at the same time as those going off under my other arm), near wrist, near elbow, bicep, underarm areaHand: 24/7 palmaris brevis spasm in left hand, randow twitches on thumb pads and between finger and thumb.Feet: 24/7 twitches that can be seen near ankle and arches. Others all over maybe 24/7 not sure.Calves: I feel them a couple of times an hour (more than that if lying down and trying to sleep); These could be constant to but at a level that I can't see or feel. I don't try to look to hard. I guess I don't want to know some things.Thigh: I feel them a couple of times a hour (more so in the back)Knee: A couple of times an hour. I have felt twitches here when trying to sleep that have gone on continuously until I got up.Stomach: I have felt tiny ones that were probably constant. Stronger thumpers maybe a couple of times a day.Back: I have these a couple of times a day. Most noticeable when trying to sleep.Face/tongue: These happen two or three times a day.Cheeks: About six weeks ago I had a slow contraction similar to the palmaris brevis spasm going on on my cheeks next to my nose. This could only be seen if you were standing an inch from my face. This went away.By the way, while typing this I felt a couple of thumps in my right leg near my knee. I am never totally assymptomatic and actually feel something happening every couple of minutes or so. This is why I am so desperate for relief. It's not something I can easily just live with even if I feel it is not bad disease.Krackersones

Wow Jro your post could be mine--even the palmaris brevis spasms. Mine is in my right hand mostly though. There is not a second that goes by that I don't have a twitch somewhere. :D)

Twitching everywhere except the top of my head. Mornings seems to be the worst, when I'm laying in bed. I have some spots (like my bicep) that has been twitching off and on for two weeks - the same spot - which drives me nuts. In the mornings, my tongue flickers as well as practically every other spot on my body.

Today has been a particularly bad day. I am starting to realize that many, many muscles are probably twitching 24/7 but I can't always feel it. I was looking at my knee today when I was getting the thumpers and realized you can see a tiny flicker even when it is not thumping so this one is probably also 24/7. Sueboy - It's interesting that you also have the palmaris brevis spasm. I have to believe that there is a similar mechanism at play with many of us on this board given the similarity of our symptoms. I hope the testing and doctor visits I endure over the next month or so produce something useful for more than just myself.43RichyThe43rd's post on Tegretol gives me some hope. He hasn't said it eliminated his twitches but he did say it reduced them. If a trustworthy doctor recommends this to me I will be trying it.Krackersones

I got them 24/7 in my calves but funny enough those are not the one that bother me, I really hate the bicep and hand ones. Does your whole bicep shake as well? I got them like 20 times in a row.Bart

hey Krackersones-i havent had one in awhile-- and i did not look at anything on the internet-- not good for my psyche-- however, happy to describe--twitch happens right in the fleshy part of the thumb-- kind of moves that whole area-- i have also had them on the top of my hand between thumb and index finger-but more commonly in the fleshy part-- did i help??

This is a particular type of spasm. If you search "palmaris brevis" under Experiences with BFS you will find a link. If you search that website for "palmaris brevis" you will see the picture. The info says it's benign. Mine looks exactly like that. It is continuous and I can't really feel it. The only good thing about it is it gives me something to show the doctors so they don't think everything is in my imagination.

Krackersones, I do have palmaris brevis spasm too it is the same like the picture that you mentioned.I twitch constantly in my feet, specially the arches but other areas too every day avery minute, I twitch my toes evey day every minute, the palmaris brevis too, then I have random twitches today in legs other day in lips, eye, calves ,nose and some other places too but not every day , even most of the days I only twitch feet, toes and palmaris brevis not other twitches.

Morzani,I thank you for sharing that you have the palmaris brevis spasm too. It makes me feel a lot better when I know others share the same symptoms and are still fine. Krackersones
