What Significance Does Lowest Levels Have?

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times and wondered why it was relevant to BFS or any other disease for that matter. I was going through my paperwork and came across my levels, which are close to the lowest level in the range.Does anyone know what significance, if any, this has?Thank you

Some scared individuals may test CK because increased values may be a sign of muscle damage. I say MAY because the fact is even if you do some sports you get increased levels in next days. This CK testing has no significance to neuromuscular diseases. Increase can show also in hypothyroid people.A decreased value can very rarely mean liver problems because of alcoholism, which you don't have ;) or a rheumatoid arthritis type of diseases, but that means VERY LOW not "on a low side" and it is not a diagnostic tool either. As long as you are on the scale or even some low end or high end there is no problem as CK is very unstable in means of do the test 3 days after and it can change a lot.Don't worry about the CK enzyme ;) In itself even if abnormal means nothing significant ;)

Ah I see, thanks for the info Jerry.I think it was done to see if I was going to have a heart attack.During one of my many ER visits, I had chest palpitations, pain, and a jumping pulse.

Hmmm... even my neurologist wanted to check CK (CPK) levels. In people with ALS (and not just ALS but as Jerry stated - many many other reasons) they can be elevated. High CPK simply means muscle loss or atrophy in the realm of BFS.Low CPK levels (contratulations!) mean there's no reason to think you are experiencing any muscle atrophy / wasting.Mine also were in the normal range - and low. My neurologist actually asked about this two or three times to confirm I did not have elevated numbers, while he was assessing my BFS. So it has relevance. He wanted to order the test, but I had already done so myself :)

so you might say it's rather normal. As te colleagues explained, CK elevates when muscle tissue is physically damaged - if you are wounded, had a sports or hard work on a day before test, of if your muscles undergo physical degeneration, There is also special kinase related to heart muscle - it is elevated after heart ishemia (infarction). So having low CK is absolutely normal!
