But what is BFS? Is it the brain 'accidentaly' sending signals to the muscles telling them to move, or is it to do with the muscle itself? [...I feel like an idiot asking this]

It seems to be different for everyone. I am trying to undersatnd if fascics are visible for some and more of a buzzing or vibration for others. If they are NOT visible are they fibrillations as opposed to fascics? The top of my left foot twitched for 14 hours yesterday and not once did I see the motion. I wonder if thisi s BFS or some other funky thing? Except for my calves on occasion, I do not see any movement when I twich...do you? Since I do not know any one with this conditon I am trying to learn by comparison. Anypersonal description or info would be great. 2 months of this is driving me nuts!!!Thnaks,

What causes BFS is the million dollar question. There are plenty of theories, but no one is quite for sure.
