Hi VP. A warm welcome to you. I am sorry you are at the beginning of this journey.

My neuro (at Mayo Clinic) said that widespread fascicualtions are considered benign. Hope this makes you feel better.

JC,

My neuro said that twitching really has nothing to do with MS. The only reason why she ran me through a MRI was because of my sensory problems- which they (sensory) have nothing to do with ALS. I guess they both cancel each other out. Hope this helps.

Sudden, widespread twitching is very very very very unlikely to be a mnd. It is much more likely benign or possibly caused by a metabolic problem or another treatable issue.

We have *never* had a case on this board where someone developed widespread, sudden twitching and it was als. In fact, there have only been two cases in the two years which I have been on this board where someone was dxed with a mnd - both of them had serious weakness (foot drop) in conjunction with twitching.

Happy mother's day - you're going to learn that you are totally fine.
